Kyiv Medical University is the best private institution of higher education (Rating-2019), about 3,500 people, 500 interns and 3,000 students’ study at the university, 35% are foreign students from 56 countries.

Kyiv Medical University was founded by Valery Volodymyrovych Pokanevych  (1950-2012) – Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director General of the Ukrainian Association of Traditional Medicine, Chief Freelance Specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in “Folk and Alternative Medicine”.

VV Pokanevych was at the origins of building a system of human resources in the field of folk and alternative medicine of Ukraine. At his initiative and participation in 1998, the medical specialty “Doctor of Folk and Alternative Medicine” was launched, which was included in the list of medical positions in health care facilities.

In 1992, Pokanevych VV created Kyiv Medical University, whose work was based on the need to introduce the most effective, scientifically sound methods and tools of folk and alternative medicine to the complex therapy of diseases in the system of medical institutions of Ukraine. The implementation of this concept is reflected in the functioning and development of a new type of higher education, the education of whose students today is a combination of the principles of classical and folk and alternative medicine, which VV dreamed of. Pokanevich.

The university trains specialists in the field of training 22 “Health” at the faculties: medical specialty “Medicine” (222), term of study – 6 years, form of study – full-time, dental faculty, specialty “Dentistry” (221), term of study – 5 years, form of study – full-time, “Pharmacy. Industrial Pharmacy” (226), forms of study – full-time and part-time, terms of study 5 and 5.5 years, respectively.

About 500 faculty members work on the introduction of the latest educational technologies, improvement of clinical and educational bases, equipping of support departments, improvement of the material and technical base of the University and comfort of students, not counting the administration. The number of graduates today is about 4,000 people.

KHARKIV INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

The introduction of useful experience and the creation of a new one has always been the hallmark of Kyiv Medical University. In 2017, the idea arose to create a territorially separate unit of the university. The choice fell on the “most student” city of Ukraine – Kharkiv.

It was in Kharkiv, on February 21, 2018, that the Kharkiv Institute of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the Kyiv Medical University was inaugurated. Having opened its doors to students in February this year, the Institute is rapidly gaining momentum, showing a high level of quality of education and service. Passing the stage of attitude, we try to actively implement all the useful achievements of the University of Kiev.

The main goal is to provide high-quality theoretical and practical training of specialists using the latest educational methods and technologies and to organize the educational process within the policy of zero tolerance to corruption (Corruption free University). The teaching staff of the Kharkiv Institute consists of doctors and candidates of sciences, professors and associate professors who are fluent in English and have experience in teaching foreign students.

The building of the Institute is located in the heart of the city – five minutes’ walk from the station. metro Architect Beketov on a cozy street.

Each classroom is equipped with at least one plasma smart TV, which allows the teacher to conduct each lesson, accompanied by a presentation, educational videos, etc.

We have an extensive video surveillance system, which, firstly, guarantees the safety of all students, and secondly helps to control the quality of educational services.

Each student is provided with textbooks and access to simulation equipment, which allows them to practice certain practical skills without even leaving the classroom.
